What we do

The RESolution project operates across two primary locations with distinct but complementary objectives focused on renewable energy deployment and urban sustainability.

WP1 · Békéscsaba

Increase Békéscsaba's capacity to utilize renewable energy by deploying two LiFePO4 batteries.

Six activities, from procurement to the hydrogen strategy and the joint knowledge exchange with Oradea.

1.1

Battery Procurement

The city will acquire two mobile batteries using cobalt-free LiFePO4 technology, with a combined capacity of 600 kWh. The project includes purchasing container chassis and renting trailers for event transportation, integrating these systems into existing solar and smart grid infrastructure.

Months 1–12

1.2

Awareness Campaign

A multi-channel promotion targets event organizers and construction professionals, utilizing workshops, digital marketing, website, social media and newsletters to encourage adoption of solar-charged mobile batteries

Months 1–24

1.3

Pilot Testing

Installation of 20 smart meters with mobile app interfaces at real events and construction sites, followed by comprehensive reporting on lessons learned.

Months 7–18

1.4

Strategic Development

Development of collaborative strategy documentation incorporating stakeholder input through regular workshops.

Months 1–18

1.5

Hydrogen Planning

Expert-led development of hydrogen strategy covering storage and public transport, including building plans for future green hydrogen systems.

Months 1–24

1.6

Knowledge Exchange

Four joint workshops with Oradea partners documenting best practices.

Months 1–24

WP2 · ZMO (Oradea Metropolitan Area)

Transform the Metropolitan Centre into a model for urban renewable energy, integrating geothermal and PV.

Three activities, centred on one building and the cross-border framework built around it.

1.1

Renovation

Comprehensive renovation of a Cazaban Street facility featuring geothermal pumps, photovoltaic panels, smart climate controls, and 10 CO2 monitoring systems for air quality tracking.

Months 1–18

1.2

Exchange Events

Four bilateral study visits involving 20 participants per event, focusing on geothermal and energy storage technologies.

Months 1–24

1.3

Joint Strategy

Compilation of cross-border cooperation framework and technical integration solutions.
